TRUE is a modification to existing diesel auxiliary trucks which hybridizes the refrigeration unit. By implementing a regenerative braking system into the trailer, TRUE powers the reefer system without relying solely on diesel, offering a sustainable and efficient solution that minimizes fuel use while maximizing operational performance.

TRUE MODIFICATION

TRUE is a comprehensive modification consisting of three core components:

 

Regenerative Braking System: Installed on the rear axle of the trailer bed, this system captures energy generated during braking, converting it into usable electric power.

 

Lithium-Ion Battery: This high-capacity battery stores the captured energy, ensuring a reliable power source for the refrigeration unit.

Modified Refrigeration Connection: This adapted connection prioritizes the battery as the primary power source for the refrigeration unit, with a diesel backup in place to ensure uninterrupted operation.

This innovative system not only reduces diesel dependency but also enhances energy efficiency, providing a sustainable, cost-effective solution for cold storage companies.

ENERGY YIELD 

TRUE delivers impressive energy yields across various routes, generating high kWh levels and achieving up to 80% annual fuel savings. With a recapture rate of 0.25 or higher, TRUE maximizes regenerative energy output, which varies depending on the unit's weight and adherence to speed regulations.
